Our client is a well-established provider of technical production equipment and dry hire services to the events, broadcast, and entertainment sectors, operating across the UK and internationally as part of a wider European group.

They are seeking to appoint an experienced General Managwer to take full responsibility for the UK business. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to drive growth, strengthen market position, and lead a high-performing team within a fast-paced environment.

The role

  • You will have overall accountability for the performance and direction of the UK operation, with full responsibility for profit and loss, commercial growth, and operational delivery.
  • The role involves developing and executing the business strategy, identifying new opportunities across live events, touring, exhibitions, and broadcast, and growing both existing and new client relationships.
  • Leading the UK management team, the successful candidate will drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across commercial, warehouse, and project delivery functions.
  • A key focus will be on maximising the utilisation and return on a high-value technical equipment portfolio, working closely with operations to ensure efficient planning, allocation, and delivery.
  • You will support major tenders and strategic projects, represent the business within the industry, and ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • They will also ensure compliance with UK regulations, maintain strong governance and risk management practices, and align the UK operation with wider group strategy, systems, and standards. The role will act as the primary link with group leadership and provide regular performance reporting.

Skills

  • Candidates should have a proven track record in a senior leadership role within the events, production, or dry hire sector, with strong commercial awareness and experience managing profit and loss.
  • A solid understanding of technical production equipment and asset-based business models is essential, along with a track record of driving business growth and improving operational performance.
  • The successful individual will be a hands-on and credible leader, capable of motivating teams and operating effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills are required, alongside a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • An established network within the live events, broadcast, or production sectors and experience working within an international group structure would be advantageous.
