Our client, a pioneer in Smart Collaboration Environments is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer with strong expertise in Audio-Visual (AV) integration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical knowledge of video conferencing systems, meeting room technology, LED displays, and digital signage solutions. You’ll work closely with clients, account managers, and project teams to design, present, and validate innovative AV solutions that meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and translate them into technical AV system designs and proposals.
- Create technical documentation including schematics, system diagrams, and bills of materials using tools such as AutoCAD or D-Tools.
- Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept sessions for clients and partners.
- Advise customers on the integration of video conferencing platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex, Google Meet) with hardware ecosystems (e.g. Logitech, Crestron, Poly, Shure, Biamp, QSC, Barco).
- Design and specify solutions for meeting rooms, huddle spaces, auditoriums, LED walls, and digital signage networks.
- Work with the engineering and installation teams to ensure the proposed solution is practical, cost-effective, and aligned with best practices.
- Stay current on emerging AV technologies, standards, and trends in UCC (Unified Communications & Collaboration), AV over IP, and network-based media systems.
- Support the tender and proposal process with technical input, diagrams, and solution overviews.
- Provide post-sales technical handover and knowledge transfer to the delivery team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in AV system design, pre-sales engineering, or technical consultancy.
- Strong understanding of AV integration, signal flow, and networked AV systems (e.g. Dante, NDI, HDBaseT, AVB).
- Familiarity with video conferencing hardware and platforms (e.g. Crestron Flex, Logitech Rally, Poly Studio, Cisco Room Series).
- Knowledge of control systems and automation (e.g. Crestron, Extron, AMX).
- Experience with LED display technology (e.g. Unilumin, Absen, Leyard, Samsung), video processors (e.g.
- NovaStar, Brompton, Barco E2), and digital signage CMS platforms (e.g. BrightSign, Tripleplay, Scala).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales, project management, and technical teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CTS, CTS-D, Crestron DMC-D, Q-SYS, Dante Level 2/3) are a strong plus.
- Must speak fluent German and English.
