We are seeking an experienced AV Commissioning Engineer to support the final testing, configuration, and commissioning of complex audio-visual systems across enterprise environments.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring all AV systems are fully tested, optimised, and delivered to the highest technical standard. You will work closely with Project Managers and engineering teams to validate system performance, resolve technical issues, and produce detailed commissioning documentation.
You will also provide technical leadership on assigned projects, helping to define testing strategies, resolve integration challenges, and ensure all systems meet project requirements and client expectations.
The Role
- In this role, you will be responsible for the commissioning and final validation of integrated AV systems during and after installation.
- You will act as a key technical expert on-site, ensuring systems are fully functional, correctly configured, and ready for client handover. You will also support minor programming adjustments, troubleshooting, and system optimisation across control, audio, video, and networked AV environments.
- Working closely with Project Managers, you will ensure all testing outcomes are properly documented and that any outstanding issues are tracked through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and architectural plans
- Test and verify full end-to-end AV system functionality
- Review project scope of work to ensure complete and accurate installation delivery
- Commission and troubleshoot integrated AV systems including control, audio, and video
- Configure and support control systems (e.g. Crestron / AMX)
- Make minor programming adjustments and assist with DSP tuning and configuration
- Fine-tune audio and video systems to ensure optimal performance
- Configure IP-enabled AV devices and ensure network connectivity
- Support user acceptance testing and client system validation
- Produce commissioning documentation, test results, and punch lists
- Support end-user training and system handover where required
- Act as a client-facing technical representative when required
- Travel to client sites as needed
Your Profile
- Strong understanding of AV system integration, signal flow, and system architecture
- Experience with control systems (Crestron / AMX preferred)
- Knowledge of DSP systems and audio configuration principles
- Understanding of IP networking in AV environments
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex AV system faults
- Strong PC skills and familiarity with test and calibration tools
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with clients and internal teams
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in AV installation, commissioning, or integration
- Formal qualification in Electronics or related field (preferred)
- Experience with enterprise video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.)
- AVIXA CTS certification (preferred)
