Senior Event technology specialist – Rigging (m/w/d)

Axiiotek has signed an exclusive agreement to support a major multi-hire recruitment campaign within the event technology sector. Following significant investment in state-of-the-art equipment, internal infrastructure, and future growth, our client is looking to strengthen their technical leadership team with outstanding industry professionals.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Rigger to play a key role in delivering complex live events while supporting the strategic development of the rigging department.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Rigging Technology, you will provide both technical and operational leadership across the department. You’ll be responsible for coordinating complex rigging projects, maintaining the highest safety and quality standards, supporting team development, and acting as Deputy Team Lead when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Rigging Technology with the technical and organisational leadership of the department.
  • Manage and deliver internal and client-facing rigging projects from planning through to execution.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, structural calculations, crew planning, and project documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance on rigging systems, equipment, and production-related matters.
  • Work closely with internal departments, clients, suppliers, and international project teams.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and the ongoing development of team members.
  • Promote a collaborative, safety-first, and solution-focused working culture.

About You

  • A degree in Media Technology, Event Technology, or a comparable practice-based qualification specialising in rigging (e.g. Meister für Veranstaltungstechnik).
  • SQQ2 Level 3 certification (or equivalent recognised rigging qualification).
  • Previous experience as a Project Lead, Technical Lead, Head Rigger, or in a similar senior coordinating role.
  • Strong knowledge of rigging systems, production processes, structural principles, and relevant safety legislation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Germany and internationally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Vectorworks (or comparable project management/design software).
  • Fluent German and English.
