We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Design & Engineering to lead and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team. This is a key leadership role responsible for shaping the strategic direction of design and engineering functions, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives, and driving innovation across projects.
This position is ideal for a senior leader with a strong background in architecture, design, or AVL (audiovisual, lighting) who thrives in dynamic, project-driven environments and is passionate about building structure, leading teams, and delivering technical excellence.
Your Responsibilities
- Define and implement the strategic vision for the Design & Engineering function
- Ensure alignment between design, engineering, and overall business objectives
- Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams across design, architecture, and AVL
- Build and scale the team, including recruitment, training, and performance management
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, workflows, and delivery standards
- Identify and implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies
- Oversee research and development initiatives
- Establish clear structures, processes, and best practices across the department
- Act as a key stakeholder in complex, high-value projects
Your Profile
- Extensive experience in design and engineering roles, including senior leadership positions
- Strong background in architecture, design, AVL, or related technical environments
- Proven ability to define and execute strategic plans aligned with business goals
- Demonstrated success in leading and scaling multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working within construction, fit-out, system integration, or technical project environments
- Solid understanding of both architectural design and AVL systems
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to structure and optimise processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred)
- Native-level German and fluent English (both required)
